About TomHolowka.Com

This site is dedicated to investigating what it truly means to be healthy. Across the world you can find many different opinions and thoughts on what it means to be healthy. I’m interested in the truth.

If that sounds vague, that’s on purpose. Health includes such a wide variety of topics that it would be a disservice to you to leave something out.

I want this site to be an resource where people can come to learn about different aspects of health and apply them to their own lives wherever they may be. I would be delighted if my little home on the web can have a positive impact on your life.

About Tom

I’m a health enthusiast currently living in Connecticut, USA. My formal training (for now) is being a Certified Personal Trainer by the National Academy of Sports medicine. Most of my knowledge here comes from an independent study on health over the last five years of my life, including my own personal experiences over that period. I hope to some day pursue a more formal education on the topic of health, but for now my informal training will have to do.

I started this website mainly out of a desire to help other people. I’ve seen many people die who didn’t have to, and every week I seem to see or meet someone new who is having health challenges that doesn’t know what to do or how to help themselves. I hope to be able to reach some of those people and encourage them to follow the path to health. One of the reasons I became a certified personal trainer was to help obese and morbidly obese people get healthy again.

My desire to help others is not the only reason for the creation of this site, I have some selfish motives as well. One of my dreams is to become a published author. By publishing articles I hope to not only have a positive effect on the lives of others, but to also hone my writing skills and move toward this dream.

Another one of my dreams is to become a professional athlete, which I’ve dreamed of since I was little kid. Despite my love for sports as a kid, I never practiced enough to come anywhere close to realizing that dream. Now some of the sports I participate in are basketball, cycling, swimming, running, weight-lifting and ultimate frisbee among other things.

Although these dreams may never come true, I believe I owe it to myself to continue to pursue them. I hope sharing this with you gives you some insight into the type of person I strive to be.
